Our Story
Remembering
Patrick Grange
Patrick Grange was a beloved son, brother, and friend whose passion for soccer and life touched everyone who knew him. In 2012, Pat was diagnosed with ALS — amyotrophic lateral sclerosis — at just 29 years old.
After Pat's passing, his brain was donated to research at Boston University, where scientists discovered he had CTE (chronic traumatic encephalopathy), making him the first American soccer player diagnosed with the condition. His case has been pivotal in advancing our understanding of head injuries in soccer.
The Patrick Grange Memorial Foundation was established to honor Pat's memory by raising awareness about ALS, supporting research, and bringing communities together through the events and activities Pat loved most.
